Smithsonian K-12 Teacher Workshop: Creating Portraits of Community

About
The International Museum of Art & Science and the Smithsonian Institute are partnering to bring a free in person workshop to IMAS for K – 12th grade teachers to introduce Smithsonian’s American Art Museum curriculum, Creating Portraits of Community.
What is Creating Portraits of Community?
The Creating Portraits of Community curriculum teaches K – 12th grade teachers how to capture the communities around them through multimedia portraits. Over the course of three lessons, teachers will learn to use photography and oral history to record and analyze their own social, cultural, and historical contexts in the classroom with their students.
This workshop has limited capacity. Make sure to reserve your seat and RSVP through our online registration link.
All teachers attending this educator workshop will receive a $150 paid stipend for their time.
